Transfer Station Operating Hours/Charges & Fees

Waste Transfer Stations were established throughout the Shire in 1992 to resolve the issue of the depletion of landfill space and to provide a co-ordinated approach to the management of waste.
Transfer stations are located at Yass, Murrumbateman, Bookham, Bowning and Binalong. Tips also operation at Wee Jasper and Gundaroo.
Yass Landfill Closure
Contractors and builders who currently utilise the Yass Landfill to dispose of mixed builders waste will be required to transport this waste material to Murrumbateman Landfill as of 1 August 2004. Alternative options for separating your waste and disposing of separated materials at the Yass Transfer Station are available. Clean fill will continue to be accepted at the facility in the short term.
