Development Applications On Exhibition

Development Applications 167/2008 and 163/2008

Applicant:       Milestone Pty Ltd.

Development Application 167/2008 seeks consent for the subdivision and consolidation of existing allotments to facilitate the redevelopment of the (current) Landmark site for the purposes of an ALDI Store with associated car parking and advertising signage.  It should be noted that this application also involves an exchange of land with Yass Valley Council.

Development Application 163/2008 seeks consent for the:

• Demolition of all structures and the removal of all landscaping on the development site including one street tree (Bradford Pear) in Lead Street;
• Construction and Fit-out of a new ALDI Store with frontage to Comur Street;
  
• Construction of an at-grade car park with an area for 80 car spaces including two accessible spaces;
  
• Construction of associated Advertising Signage;
  
• Installation of new landscaping including the provision of street trees in Crago Street;
  
• Construction of a pedestrian footpath from Comur Street to the new ALDI car park in Crago Street; and
  
• The construction of a new laneway (on Council Land) to provide access to the proposed ALDI Store car park and adjacent Council land.
  
  The land over which the development applications have been lodged is Lots X & Y in DP 370476, Lots 1 & 2 in DP1012418, Lots R & S in DP 24503, Lots A & C in DP 350965, Lot A in DP 24486, Lot 3 in DP 218410 and Lot 5 in DP 539671, Comur and Crago Streets, Yass.

Further Information

The development applications, including plans and other supporting documentation will be on public exhibition from Friday 6 June 2008 up until Friday 4 July 2008 during normal office hours at Yass Valley Council's Administrative Offices - 209 Comur Street, Yass.

Written submissions in relation to the development application will be received by Council up until 5.00 pm on Friday 4 July 2008.  Any submission made should quote Council's file number 4877 and the development application number.  In this regard, it should also be noted that the substance of any submission may be included in a written report concerning the application to the Council.

In addition, it should be noted that Council is subject to Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation and as such copies of any submission may be made available to any person entitled to lodge an application under FOI legislation.
