Library Traineeship Do you like being involved with the community? Are you interested in helping people to find information or recommending a great read? Do you relate to people of all ages? Are you enthusiastic, helpful and committed to great customer service? Do you enjoy learning new things? If you have answered yes to all these questions then you could be our potential new Library Trainee. The successful applicant will be offered a 2 year traineeship that gives you the opportunity to work full-time and attain the Certificate IV in Library and Information Service. Applications to be our next trainee close on Monday 14th September at 5pm. The position description and selection criteria are available from the Library or can be downloaded below.. Congratulations to Kerrianne (our current Trainee) who has successfully completed her studies. The experience and knowledge she has gained from on-the-job training whilst studying will be invaluable for future employment. Kerrianne's reflections on her time at Yass Library... I have been the Library's Trainee for the past 3 1/2 years and it has been a worthwhile experience. Whilst working full-time, I have been studying the Diploma in Library and Information Services and have gained valuable work experience. Working Monday to Friday, I have had the opportunity to meet some interesting people and form enduring friendships. I have conducted a range of tasks from baby rhyme time and story time to housebound deliveries and I always meet somebody new. The course is an online course and all material is delivered via the internet. The course itself isn't demanding however you may be required to complete assignments by conducting activities in the workplace. Overall the traineeship is a great opportunity to try something new. I have enjoyed my time at Yass Library and I will take away with me the wonderful experience the community has provided me. Download document Contact details |
