Country Energy to Give Away $500 of Free Electricity to Yass Valley Resident

Last modified: November 13, 2008 - 10:16 AM

A VERY BRIGHT IDEA IN TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES

Economic times are tough, so last year’s winner of the Country Energy Yass Valley Festival “$500 worth of Free Electricity” Trish could not have been happier with her prize. “It made a hell of a difference to me; it paid off my electricity account when I was desperate! It paid that in full and some off the next one. Thank you for your support Country Energy”, Trish said.

$500 worth of free electricity is a wonderful prize and the Country Energy Yass Valley Film Festival Committee is again pleased to be offering this very popular competition.

To save that $500 from your electricity bills this coming year, just clip out the coupon in the Yass Tribune, download it from the Yass Valley Council website or pick up a copy at one of the events and drop it into an entry box at one of the film nights, Yass Riverbank Park, 14 November, Murrumbateman Rec Ground, 22 November or Binalong Rec Ground, 28 November.

All three events are set to kick off at about 6.30pm with the movies starting at dusk. The Yass audience will be entertained by Johnny Huckle while Murrumbateman and Binalong will dance along to the swing bands sounds of Queen Juanita and the Zydeco Cowboys. Food, cold drinks, coffee, glow stick products and kids fun is available at all three events – or bring along a picnic and join in the family fun.

Films for Yass include the short films made by our local students as well 16 awarding winning Australian Films, all courtesy of In The Bin. This increasingly popular event will feature some of the best Australian actors currently working in the industry including Gary McDonald, Kerry Armstrong, Shaun Micallef, Diane Craig and Chris Haywood. So settle back under the stars for a great evening of fun (if it rains, the event will move to the Memorial Hall) on Friday night.
