McDonalds Yass and the Yass Film Festival Embrace the Reward of Contemporary Change

Last modified: October 16, 2008 - 12:52 AM

With an eye on providing excellent contemporary family entertainment, sharing the cultural goodies within the Yass Valley Local Government Area and aiming at just having a really good time – the Yass Valley Film Festival Committee is gearing up for the first of the three festival film nights for 2008 –

  • Yass 14 November
  • Murrumbateman 22 November
  • Binalong 28 November.

The fabulous fun nights commence in Yass on 14 November with a screening of the ever popular In The Bin Short Film Festival (including the five films made by local students!) As always – this night promises the highest standard in Australian Short films and remains one of the most popular events on the Yass Valley entertainment Calendar.Following on from In The Bin, the team from Flickerfest take over with their own short film program for both Murrumbateman and Binalong. Flickerfest, based in Bondi, is one of Australia’s largest Short Film Competitions and has promised the Festival committee over an hour of the best in contemporary short film. All in all – the events promise to be a feast of food, fun and fabulous film entertainment.

Karen Rae at McDonalds Yass is again one of the Festivals sponsors and is both happy and proud to be involved. 2008 has also brought change to Yass McDonalds with a modern and contemporary refit of the extremely popular family restaurant. Long tables, bright and happy glossy walls and contemporary retro light fittings, have all provided Yass McDonalds with an exciting visual revamp in the same way that the Film Festival is revamping end of year entertainment for Yass Valley.

Karen and McDonalds continue to provide immense support to Yass Valley through a range of avenues and Karen is very committed to retaining Yass McDonald’s involvement in the Yass Valley Film Festival. Karen can’t wait to see the short films and along with lots of other around the region – will travel out to see a couple of the events.

For more information on any of the films – contact the Yass Valley Visitor Information Centre on 02 6226 2557.
