Vandalism of Council Property

Yass Valley Council is aware of the significant cost of vandalism to the community and, as one strategy to control it, offers rewards to people who report vandalism. The rewards relate to vandalism of any Council property.
- A reward of up to $2,000 will be paid to persons providing information leading to the apprehension of vandals.
- A reward of up to $5,000 will be paid to persons providing information leading to the apprehension and conviction of vandals. The maximum award will only be paid when a conviction is obtained, a fine imposed and compensation paid to Council.
Rewards of varying amounts up to the maximum will be determined by the Mayor, and General Manager depending on the circumstances of each case.
All members of the Yass Valley community are encouraged to report incidents of vandalism on 6226 1477 or 1300 553 652 during office hours or 0408 625 694 after hour.
