The Yass Celebration of Heritage Motoring

Organisation: Yass Antique Motor Club Inc.
Date: 08 Apr 2006 to 09 Apr 2006
Location:

Day 1 - Yass Memorial Hall & Banjo Paterson Park

Day 2 - Cooma Cottage, Yass

Time: 09:45
Cost: Free

The ‘Yass Celebration of Heritage Motoring’ will feature a Heritage Photographic display with static and working displays of memorabilia including machinery and fashion etc in the Memorial Hall in the centre of Yass.  In the adjoining Banjo Paterson Park, we will also have an extensive static display of motor vehicles through the decades, with drivers and passengers in period costume where possible.  We hope those participating in the display, will accept an invitation to picnic in style beside their cars throughout the day or partake in the heritage food stands and traditional morning and afternoon teas.

This Promotion Day will be free to all drivers, passengers and onlookers with free give aways and many related trade stands, competitions and activities. We will even be auctioning a car!!

This event can be enjoyed over one or two days with lock up storage available for vehicles over night if needed. The main event on Saturday 8th April 2006 includes the Car Display in Banjo Paterson Park and Photographic Display in the Memorial Hall, and will be followed by a fun filled Evening of Rock and Roll. A 50’s theme night of food, fashion and fun, period costume is encouraged! 50’s trivia quiz and live music is being arranged! The evening event will be a non profit night so tickets will be reasonable, although price cannot be finalised until final arrangements have been made (Admission via pre-booked tickets only).

Day Two - Sunday 9th April 2006 Y.A. M.C. and Visitors will have their cars on display at the Cooma Cottage Heritage Day. The day will feature Live music, Blacksmith Demonstrations, Antique Machinery, Apex Jumping Castle and Picnic grounds for a relaxed B.Y.O Picnic under the trees. A Heritage Cricket Match involving car club members may also be on the cards but not yet confirmed. We invite you to join us in the display of cars and morning tea at the grounds.

If you would like to join us in the Yass Celebration of Heritage Motoring could you please notify Glenda to enable us to prepare a list of cars and organise them into groups by decade classification.  It would be appreciated if you could phone Glenda Snape on 02 6227 1111.  If you have a particular interest in our Yass Celebration of Heritage Motoring Event, and would like to volunteer memorabilia for display or help on the day, that also would be most appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you at our Celebration of Heritage Motoring!!!
