The Rating Service is responsible for implementing and maintaining an appropriate rating structure and monitoring outstanding rates and charges. Instalments Rates and Charges may be made by four instalments. Reminder notices will be sent by Council for each instalment, thirty days before the due date. If you do not wish to pay rates by instalments, payment in full must be made by the due date of the first instalment. Due Dates The due dates for the four instalments are:
Pensioner Entitlements Those ratepayers who have been issued with a pensioner concession card on or before the date of service of the notice may be eligible for a rebate on their rates and charges. War widows without a pensioner concession card may also be eligible. Ratepayers who are issued with pensioner concession cards at a later date may be eligible for a rebate proportionate to the number of complete quarters remaining in the financial year. Council will abandon 50% (or up to $250) of the combined general rate and domestic garbage charge, 50% (or up to $87.50 of the water charge and 50% (or up to $87.50) of sewerage rates, and recoup half of such amounts from the New South Wales Government. The balance of rates must be paid by the pensioner and instalment payments will be accepted. Payment of Rates and Charges Daily interest accrues on rates and charges that remain unpaid after they become due and payable at a rate of 9%. Methods of Payment
