YMCA NSW Youth Parliament 2009 applications open now The New South Wales Youth Parliament (YP) is a program that provides a way for young people aged 15-18 to put across their ideas about issues that concern them. Under the program participants attend two camps in Sydney: and attend a training camp over the weekend of April 17th-19th where they learn about parliamentary procedures and etiquette, and develop bills in teams according to the issues that interest them. Participants also attend a week long camp from July 12th-17th where they spend 3 days in the NSW Parliament House Legislative Assembly debating their bills. If you are passionate about youth issues, want to develop skills in leadership, public speaking, debating and team work, want to learn more about government & politics and meet other young people & form new friendships that last for years, then this program may be for you.
To register your interest visit www.sydney.ymca.org.au/youth-parliament or contact jess.harris@ymca.org.au Applications close Friday 13th February 2009.
